Only the text and trigger tags you explicitly save. Clipboard history is a separate, opt-in layer with bounded retention. Koru never persists raw keystrokes, and typed matching keeps only a short bounded suffix in memory.

No. Saved items and clipboard history stay on your Mac, encrypted at rest. Koru requires no account and makes no background network requests — no analytics, no cloud sync, no remote processing.

Each saved text can have several exact trigger tags, and Koru shows a choice before replacing the tag. The same recall surface also searches saved content and browses temporary clipboard history.

Koru works across native apps, browsers, editors, and more. Where an app or macOS Secure Input limits typed matching, caret placement, or direct insertion, Koru falls back to the global hotkey, a stable panel position, or copy-to-clipboard.

Accessibility lets Koru position its panel at your caret, capture selections you save, and insert text where you are writing. Input Monitoring is needed only if you enable typed matching. You can run Koru in hotkey-only mode without it.

Clipboard history has a visible Never Save Clipboard From list. Automatic typed recall has no Koru app or password-field exclusion, although macOS Secure Input can still make some fields unavailable.
